Our standard policies say that you must scrap your old vehicle within 30 days of applying to our program.
In the case of some EV purchases, delivery times may be up to 90 days from the date you purchase the vehicle.
If you select an EV and the dealership cannot guarantee you delivery within 90 days, please do not apply to our program until the vehicle delivery date is confirmed to be within 90 days of your application.
Do NOT apply to our program unless a dealership has confirmed with you that you are able to complete the purchase of an EV within 90 days. Also, DO NOT SCRAP your old vehicle, until you get a firm commitment from the dealership on a delivery date. SCRAP-IT will not be held liable for the $6,000 EV incentive payment to a customer who does not adhere to this 90 day completion policy.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the 90 day delivery timeline is met.
If you have applied to our program, purchased an EV and are now waiting for delivery of your EV (longer than 30 days), and need to continue driving your intended scrap vehicle until the new EV arrives, please send us a copy of your purchase agreement indicating your confirmed delivery date. We will then update our database records accordingly. For your convenience, you can take a picture of your purchase agreement and attach it to an email, and send it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We will contact the dealership to verify the delivery date indicated on the purchase agreement, and update your database record accordingly.
